This drive is the one actually referenced by LR. I keep a drive of "working images", those that I am currently working with on a SSD. Note that the LR catalog is backed up separately from the images (daily). only the real garbage ones get deleted from the master drive, not from the backup drive.Īll work is done in 16-bit lossless compressed tifs. I keep most originals even if not processed. Copy all files to the master archive drive.Ģ - import everything into LRC (Add, not copy or move)ģ - Copy the entire folder including xmp files to the master archive drive and 2nd HD (backup, preferably also a 3rd kept off-site if you wish) Ĥ - flag "keepers" in LR (3 or more stars, recognized by PL).ĥ- process these in PL, you can export individually or in batches.ħ - further editing as required in PS or other S/W as needed (Helicon Focus, AutoPano, Painter etc.) Ĩ - synchronize all edits into LR and copy to Backup. My workflow is a combination (using PL6, not Pure Raw).ġ - copy all files from the card to the final destination folder(s) [1 folder per "shoot") on the "working Images" drive that is referenced in LR. a) import to lightroom, cull, select images i'm going to have as keepers (i never delete ANY images though) and then process the keepers only in DXO and then work on themī) copy files from SD card to my final storage folder, process all images via DXO into the DXO folder and then import only the DXO processed files and then do my usual cull. I would not try to do it that way, see below.Ģ, Workflow. to copy the original raw files over too (so I can revert back and any point - storage space isnt really an issue) I seem to have hit a wall in that the original raw files are NOT copied across with the DXO processed ones, and just wondering what I am missing? The Export with original RAW file(s) option. whereas a) I have to interrupt my workflow to wait for the processing to happen albeit there is less processing to do.Īnyway I'd be interested to hear how YOU do it and especially if Question 1 is a bug or I am no doubt missing something!ġ. select, process?ī) seems to be a waste of CPU time, but the advantage is I just do the import, walk away and come back when its done. to copy the original raw files over too (so I can revert back and any point - storage space isnt really an issue) I seem to have hit a wall in that the original raw files are NOT copied across with the DXO processed ones, and just wondering what I am missing?Ģ, Workflow - Just wondering (and have watched a heap of videos and searched a lot) and still wondering what is my best workflow and how others do it - a) import to lightroom, cull, select images i'm going to have as keepers (i never delete ANY images though) and then process the keepers only in DXO and then work on them OR b) copy files from SD card to my final storage folder, process all images via DXO into the DXO folder and then import only the DXO processed files and then do my usual cull. i'm taking images from my sd card, processing them and using the The Export with original RAW file(s) option. When using DXO as a standalone processor. and hobby only for my family.ġ, I'm trying to work out a workflow. I am a very amateur amateur using as a hobby. I have just installed DXO PR3 for use with my Fuji XT4 - I'm pretty impressed as a LR user how much difference the demosaicing makes. Thought I would get a last thread in for myself.
